Well for VDB compensation a signature on the waiver is necessary. Some carriers do give you a voucher number and pin that can be used electronically. It's still printed on a slip of paper though.

It's a good idea but is more complicated than you think. How can you be sure to have an email address in the PNR for all pax? And what about pax that don't have smartphones?

I, and a lot of FT'ers would love to be able to rebook and reissue their own tickets during IROPS.
