I called back today and was approved! They wanted to shift some credit from my other Citi cards, so he gave me the option of which cards to move credit from. The rep listed off my four Citi cards, which was a little awkward, considering two of them are the two AA cards that I already have! Either way, he was cool with it. Total credit with Citi now stands at $37k, a $2k bump from before.
Just to reiterate, the recon. people can clearly see the other Citi cards you have, including the other AA cards, but my CSR didn't seem to care a bit.
strange because I asked about moving credit from another card the other day that just sits and they said no. might have to call back. Not that I will use all the credit but I would rather have a low credit line on a card I will not use again (thank you preferred). of course I would not close the card
