Thanks...luckily he didn't go as far as to go through the transfer. What happened, i've since discovered, was that he was using AMEX points, and instead of clicking "link new account" he clicked "Create new account" which are right there next to each other; and since he was linking to my account he didn't think twice about it verifying my address, etc.
I called Delta they seem to think it won't be a problem getting rid of the second account, the agent I spoke with seemed helpful...we'll see.
