I am giving up on ever staying at this hotel again. It is just so poorly run. The lobby is always packed with people and not in a fun kinda way. My flight was severly delayed a few weeks ago and I showed up after midnight.
conversation with the desk agent who was all smiley
Agent: You've been upgraded!
Me (very sleepy and bleary eyed): Thanks
Agent: Only thing is it is across the street.
Me: What do you mean upgraded. Sounds like you are walking me.
Agent: We are going to cover the night at the other hotel.
Me: What hotel is across the street? Are you walking me to the Aloft next door?
Agent: No it is the new "hip" Hotel Indigo.
Me: Umm, so you are walking me to a Holiday Inn. Just so you understand I am Platinum.
At this point an airline crew of about 8 or 9 walk in and each is handed a room key.
Me: I had a guaranteed rate and as a platinum shouldn't be walked.
Agent: I have nothing left, there rooms are guaranteed.
I am no longer willing to argue as it is 20 minutes later and arguing with a desk clerk is going to get me nowhere. So the agent walks with me to Hotel Indigo. Seeing as it is late and I don't want to repack I ask at HI if I can just stay the following two nights and pay the rate. Nope they are sold out so I have to check out and walk back to the Sheraton the following day.
The Hotel Indigo was the tiniest room ever. It was so tiny that there was only one small sliver of a nightstand. The other side of the bed only had a lamp built into the headboard.
