Admirals Club lounge access for OW Emerald.

Apologies if this is already answered. Please feel free to link to past posts if it has been.

I am OW Emerald through my BA Executive Club status and my understanding of the alliance lounge access policies is that this would normally allow access to OW First lounges when flying OW members, domestically and internationally.

I am aware, however, that American Airlines sell access to their lounges when flying domestically and that AA customers need to be a member of this programme to access the lounges, regardless of class booked.

I've had a read on the OW web site and I am a little confused as to what access I (as Emerald) might expect with AA Admirals Club lounges.

If I book domestic US flights on American Airlines (say Washington to LA), will I be able to use the AA Admirals Club lounges at my departure airports, before my flights, by virtue of my OW Emerald status?

Do I need to book First Class to do so, or will it be OK with economy?

Thanks for any help.
