Compensation: Is it actually a weather delay?
This is for JetBlue B6
So I'm at TPA flying to LGA on the 1116... our flight is delayed 4 hours because of weather.
In actuality, TPA and LGA are fine weather wise for the time the flight was suppose to depart.
If that incoming plane that was suppose to fly us out was delayed because of weather (whether that was the actual cause is another thing), is the airlines still liable for my TPA to LGA delay since the weather between those 2 locations were unaffected. As I see it, it is the airline's fault because they took the gamble of not having another plane available and instead hopes that the incoming flight is ontime.
I'd completely understand if there was bad weather at the source or destination, but that's not the case.
Also is there any check or balance / dispute process if you believe there is dishonesty on the airline's part?
