Clawing back is totally appropriate in only small scenarios - clawing back from someone else's account is unheard of.
When I called Rep last night, they told me another leg was added to my researvation. The only thing is, I called UA in May to confirm my trip. Finally, two supervisor worked on my account and cleaned it up. It took me totally 5 hours to straight everying out! They admit it is system glitch. My point is, they do not commnuicate with each other. I had to call many times which I should not have.
