Just finished a pretty middling stay here. Wasn't upgraded to a suite despite availability on the website and had to make a second trip down (after confirming website availability) to get the upgrade. Suite itself was fine, but hot water was close to nonexistent. Would turn on the shower and turn the hot water on full blast, and ten minutes later, it would be lukewarm.
Service was pretty hit-and-miss. Certain people were excellent. Others, not so much. The restaurant had a couple arguing in the bar area, with a woman cursing up a storm about how she was going to beat up her husband's supposed lover. For the entire length of my dinner, and to the point where everyone around me was just staring at her in astonishment. Nobody said anything to her. I asked the front desk (no dedicated concierge) where I could find a notary public and they, after 15 minutes of searching, sent me to one five blocks away that was closed when I arrived. No worries, though, because on my way back, I found two other notary publics within a block of the hotel, including one literally in the convenience store 100 feet away from the entrance. I also borrowed an umbrella one night and was told that there would be a $15 deposit placed on my account which would be erased after I returned the umbrella. I returned it five minutes later and mentioned my room number to the person at the front desk who took it, but sure enough, it was still on my bill at check out and not mentioned to me by the person checking me out, who said I merely had the dinner charge and the second night's room and taxes on the bill. Had I not asked for a copy of the bill, I would have been out $15 + tax.
I actually like this location a lot. But the soft product is rough.
