The Wyndham on Mockingbird is probably the easiest to get to. Exit he airport, make a left, go 2 blocks. TripAdvisor reviews are good. Not sure about the price.

Another idea - he could leave his car at the airport and ride a (likely free) hotel shuttle to his hotel. That takes away any risk of getting lost, and also adds security, he won't be walking alone late at night thru an unfamiliar hotel parking lot.
