If voluntarily giving up seat, odds of being able to change final destination?
Hello all,
I'm on BA213 LHR-BOS in WT on Monday 8 July. Flightstats shows zero across the board except for 2 seats in J.
I don't particularly need to arrive in Boston at any certain time so I'm hoping the flight is oversold and I'll be able to get some cash getting bumped, or get an op-up (I know, I know, buy a ticket for the class of service you wish to fly). In fact, I'd like to change my final destination to NYC instead of BOS. If I get bumped, what do you think my chances are of being able to be put on a flight to JFK or EWR? According to flightstats, the flights earlier in the day to JFK have between 1-9 seats available, the ones later in the day have 14+. EWR flights look pretty full.
If I can't get re-routed, I'm planning to purchase an AA flight BOS-JFK later in the day on 8 July. If you were in my shoes, would you buy the AA flight now ($131), or would you hope that you could get re-routed?
Thanks in advance.
