I have now busted 2 within 9 months after having an original, circa 1995 with about 2.2MM miles and at least 250 wheel miles as a result of transiting FRA.

The first new one gave out after about 30 legs, the handle refused to stow all the way in, the only way to stow it was to reach inside and release the lock tab - lubrication did not help.

The next one had issue on the first trip. First the handle refused to fully extend, similar issue with the locking mechanism, lubrication did help some. On the return leg the main compartment zipper pulled the stitching out when pulled closed - it was pretty full, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Will probably try another just to confirm, bag issues while traveling is a major issue to contend with.

Note - both bags where the latest design with the "closed" T Strap on top, Black Kirkland 22".
