I love the Lapa Palace partly because it is removed from everything, but a very short (10 min) taxi ride away. It is like a resort in a city. It has a nice pool, nice indoor/outdoor restaurant, and some of the rooms have nice views of the river. Agree with the previous poster that some tower rooms are wow,but other rooms not so wow. It is a property with a wide variety of accomodations and one needs to really specify what one wants. I personally much prefer it to the Four Seasons but it is really a matter of priorities!
