I am flying F on AA51 from LHR to DFW in a couple of weeks using a MileSAAver award on the 77W. I've had the ticket booked since last year and assigned seat 1A. At that time no other seats in the cabin were occupied. I've periodically checked my booking to ensure no changes have taken place. Today after reading this thread, I rechecked it again. My assigned seat 1A has been changed to aisle seat 2G. While I'm extremely grateful to still have
a seat assignment in the same cabin, I'm concerned that my seat was changed and disappointed to have lost the window seat that I have been holding for such a long time. I just called the Plat Desk who put me on hold with the Seating Department. After a long hold, they came back and told me that unfortunately they cannot put me back in 1A. I said, "Tell me if I'm wrong if the new pax in 1A is either a VIP, an AA Exec or FAM." He was silent. So yes I'm glad to still be in F, but I just wish I could have retained a window seat. I guess that's the risk of choosing 1A in the first place, I'll know not to do it again and hope there are no further surprises.
