The Great AA Computer in the Sky still allocated award inventory based on 777 seats which were 14 (save 2 for the pilots). Someone realized this and put something in the algorithm to sell any non-rev F seat in case a cash customer wanted it. Yes, one is an AAnytime and one is sAAver but they are both non-cash.
Whatever happened to these two guys it stinks. If word gets out that intl F awards aren't solid then what's next. And my parting thought is we are only hearing about two instances. Is this just a sample of what is happening since the FT community is just a sample of the AAdvantage universe?
FWIW, there were only 8 seats available when I booked this flight back in Sept. Maybe it is just a programming error?
