My wife is scheduled to fly from Cincinnati to Chicago (AA Flight 2954) tomorrow and then to Beijing. She only gave herself an hour between her arrival in Chicago and her departure to Beijing. I personally don't think this enough. If she just shows up early tomorrow, can she take an earlier connecting flight from Cincinnati to Chicago, if the earlier flight has seats open?

Or, is it possible to switch the tickets before by calling AA before she arrives at the airport?
