I wasn't as impressed with the Lapa Palace -- while there are a lot of local touches (e.g. use of azulejos) the colour schemes (we saw a lot of pink rooms and suites) and decor reminded me of a dated cruise line.

The top Tower room is a WOW with a private rooftop terrace.

I stayed at the Four Seasons and really enjoyed the hotel and location. I found Lapa Palace to be a little too far removed from everything.
