Booking an MFU on CX, HKG-DPS
Been using the Cathay Asia Miles board which has got me most of the way but now a bit stuck.

I can't get full reward availability for the dates I want so am looking at just buying a Y ticket instead. These aren't that cheap at nearly £600 a piece and I know that upgrade availability all comes very last minute for the Cathay flights.

My question is, if I book a revenue Y ticket, can I then upgrade it to a J ticket using Avios and can I do all of this on BA.com?
