It's actually a very quick walk if you do it outdoors. After you exit baggage claim in B2, cut across the parking garage to B1 (the USAir side) then continue along the sidewalk to A. Walking is much quicker than the shuttle bus. You might get a little wet if its raining, but its mostly under cover.
It's entire undercover. After exiting the baggage claim area, walk directly across the street at the crosswalk to the Terminal B parking garage, straight through the garage and cross over to the USAirways side of Terminal B. Turn right, and at the end of the terminal building you can enter a glass vestibule with an escalator up to the skyway, which will bring you right to Terminal A without ever being exposed to the elements. It's a 10-minute walk at the most from the AA side of Terminal B to Terminal A.
(You can do the same thing from the departure level. No need to go down to baggage claim if you don't have checked bags.)
