I'm silver and was denied access in April to priority security in MAD, flying IB. The lady said it's only for boarding and sent me to the 'regular' line (which wasn't bad at all). YMMV. It's kinda odd since you can basically use Biz check-in, go to the lounge, can't use priority security, but CAN board early.
I had to go to the regular line too last time as I didn't want throw toys out of my pram and it was getting close to boarding, so I didn't want to push it. However, when flying using BA sharecode on IB metal, I have no problems using Fast Track at Heathrow. Clear as mud
