This is a very good point.
One sidenote - you have to CALL US Airways to get the refund - processing it on the website will give you a credit but not a refund, which doesn't do you much good if you live in Denmark.
If you used a travel agent (or 3rd party website such as Orbitz) they should be able to process the refund on your behalf.
