I think that is a decent price for transcon F.
This is 11 hours on a plane, so around $106 an hour to fly first.
I paid over $800 for LGA to DTW a couple of weeks ago on a CRJ, now THAT's painful.

Personally I avoid the 757s or 737s on these routes so I would hop to JFK and fly from there. Unfortunately even business on the JFK transcon will run you north of $3k on these dates.
