Though St Regis is not my cup of tea, the hardware is far more modern than the RC.
Service is a mixed bag, some butlers really know how to take care of guests and some others don't seem to have been trained well (recurring issue at SR).
I'd still go for the SR, but its "ostentatious" design is not what they try to advertise as "elegant"
