I have a fairly simple alterations job on a vintage Brooks Wash N Wear poplin suit that I need to have done in a day or less... I'm leaving San Francisco first thing Tuesday AM for NYC but all local tailors in the Bay Area are closed Sundays/Mondays. I'll be staying at the St. Regis New York. I have a pair of poplin suit trousers that need to be let out 2" in the waist. I've been considering asking the hotel butler service to send them out and ensure that I get them back within 24hrs or less, but I don't want them outsourcing to some cheap alterationist who will make a mess of my pants. Can anyone recommend a reliable and FAST tailor who can do this, preferably nearby the hotel? It's a simple matter of letting out some of the fabric at the waist, so I don't even really need a fitting and coul potentially leave them with the hotel while out one day, but I'd like to get some suggestions and feedback from others first.
