That's what I used to think but I was coached on FT here some time ago. Have been doing it regularly since Feb 2013. Take off $400 from a CW fare and then a further 10% off the total.

The way to do it in practice is as follows:

(a) Login to BAEC
(b) Use the link for the AARP discount
(c) Enter the chase voucher code on checkout (no need to do this via the Chase10 link)
