Booked a round trip T fare using the Chase discount. Upgrading one way using Avios was no issue, but upgrading the return to paid C involved first repaying the 10% discount. I felt a bit silly since my C fare difference was worth a good bit more than the 12,500 Avios upgrade.. But either way, here are two data points for you.
