"Sir, please turn off your iPad or iPod."

Yesterday, I'm happily listening to Channel 9 and looking out the window during pushback, and this exchange happens:

FA: "Sir, please turn off you iPad."

I figured they were talking to someone else.

FA: "SIR, please turn off you iPad or iPod."

I look and realize that she's talking to me.

Me: "What?"

FA: "The iPod in your lap, you need to turn it off now."

Like an idiot, I start trying to find the iPod in my lap, and look up at her when I realize that I have no iPad or iPod. I also am kind of amused at the idea that somehow I have an iPad hidden in my lap. I look up at the FA, confused.

FA: "I know you're listening to something. Whatever it is, turn it off."

Ooooooh. Now I get it. I show her where the cord is going.

FA: "Oh, you're allowed to listen to that."

Well, no duh.

Maybe the FA's are already getting ready for the day when there is no more IFE.
