So, my original thought that there just isn't enough space to have every single passenger bring 1 carryon bag was correct. As long as that fact remains and the airlines continue to try to induce passengers to carryon their luggage so that the airline won't need to have so many baggage handlers and things keep on going missing from checked bags (or bags lost entirely), we passengers will continue to fight and complain about each others bags and no room for ours as we all try to stuff our stuff in not enough space.
