We spent a few hours on Hydra last week - from our base in Spetses ( there was a sailing regatta on - our hotel The Poseidonion was one of the main sponsors and AmanZoe appeared as a minor sponsor) - I love Hydra and I really suggest anyone staying at AmanZoe spends some time there as well Spetses of course.
You are, of course, welcome to your opinion. And I stick by mine. I am no Amanjunkie or Aman apologist (ask me about the horrible Amanpuri or Amanjena or why I would never go back to either), nor am I a stranger to luxury hotels. If if felt the negative outweighed the positive, I would have had absolutely no problem saying that. In this case I did not feel that this was true.
I agree that Hydra was a fun little island. Nothing spectacular, but well worth the trip.
