I have a Citi Aadvantage card that I got about 18 months ago so I wanted to apply for another at some point. A few months after I got this card, I was on the phone with Citi and they offered me the Aadvantage Amex with a 30k bonus. I got this card and then cancelled it about 6 months later in order to shift credit to a new card. My question is did the subsequent Amex card restart the 18 month clock to be eligible for another bonus? Technically I shouldn't have been eligible for the bonus with the Amex but they offered it.
