* Having two seperate accounts really defeats the usefulness of this whole en-devour since I have to pay to transfer points.

Unless anyone has any other ideas I think I'm just going to cancel that card, use the "free" points that I got for signing up and go back to using the capital one.

Again, thanks for the clarification.

E: I wasn't familiar with the CP, so thanks for pointing that out. But again, I don't think that helps me. She doesn't fly ... ever. So if this account earns a CP through credit card spending (and it will) then that means I can fly for free when she flies. But since she isn't flying and I am this isn't really helpful.
Its true with all airlines---As far as I know you cant have joint points/rewards account as individuals.

Set up a new credit card in your name.

Set up your own RR account and link it to the credit card.

As for the points issue...I bet you could explain this to a Southwest representative with the Rapid Rewards and they could transfer the points earned already into your new account with some effort. If you have 10,000 points in this account they could automatically credit your new account in your name by 10,000 points and then kill this other account.

With southwest there is a customer care unit where you call a 214 number
