Just be mindful that GVA is not a big transfer point and that - unless you know your way around the airport - the official transfer route will involve a security check as they don't separate Schengen from non-Schengen arrivals.

For what its worth, LX2800 dep ZRH 0700 gives a bit more time. And there is the direct ZRH-EWR of course.
