BOS is one of United's Key non-hub cities. IF you look at the flight schedules, they have very frequent service to EWR/ORD/IAD, and reasonably frequent service to SFO/DEN/CLE, and some service to LAX(!)
Unless it's changed, 2x daily to SFO seems to barely qualify as frequent, reasonably or not.
