An aircraft on approach (2000-1000 foot) is about 500-1000 fpm negative at 125-150knots. At 1000fpm you get that gut feeling of dropping down. On take off the first lift off phase has about 1500-2000 fpm positive with 180-200 knots till about 3000 feet and then a more leisurely fpm till cruise. 507m negative is quite a bit.
