It went fine. I got a bit worried on the way if the gas stations are staffed at night -- the automatic pumps usually work only with Canadian credit cards, a thing I do not have. But Shell was staffed and I passed security smoothly. A handful of people in the queue. The annoying thing is that the maple leaf lounge is closed at this hour. There is actually no sign, but the elevator refuses to go up to the 4th floor. So I guess this means closed.

Fortunately, I remembered my Diners Club card and noticed the Plaza lounge on the other side of the concourse. Actually by far the best Diners Club lounge I have ever been to. Very nice warm breakfast. In Europe DC lounges often barely have a place to sit and 2 drinks to choose from.
