New to RR and I've really messed it up
I'm very new to both SouthWest and Rapid Rewards and somehow I've gotten this all mixed up and I'm hoping a pro may be able to help me out here.
In January I knew that starting this summer I would be flying a LOT for business and I knew SWA would be coming to Wichita in June. So my wife and I got our Southwest Visa and I started putting all of my business expenses on it. For example I'm about to order $20,000 in hardware and I'm going to put it on this card so the next time I have to fly to Austin I don't have to pay.
But when my wife and I filled out the form online I just put her name then my name and called it a day. She got a card, I got my card, no worries.
Today when I went to setup my Rapid Rewards account I was told "no no no, the card is in HER name so the Rapid Rewards account is in HER name." Ok -- I don't care what name is on the account. I just want to buy a ticket.
I can't purchase a ticket for myself on that account -- the web page errors out at the TSA fill out your information page.
SouthWest says I need to keep a seperate account -- but that doesn't make any sense! All of my Chase Points are tied up into her account, including the A-List status, and then the only points in my account will be the ones from when I fly. Their suggestion was to tell Chase to change the name on the card. Chase said I could apply for a second card but I'd likely be denied since I'm already on a Rapid Rewards account.
Please tell me the people I talked to today just were confused and that I goofed up somewhere and this is easily fixed.
