Should CX tighten their staff travel ID90 rules on Business class?
Is this just me but too often I had an near half empty seat map only to find the actual flight full. Some awards travel, perhaps, but mostly staff travel fills the cabin. Anyways compared to US/EU career who will offer ID90 to practically any family member of employee, i know CX's policy is rather strict. However am I the only guy who find it frustrating to see so many staff travel in premium cabin?
I am fully aware I'm paying J fares out of my pocket for my seat, and not for cabin. But exclusive nature of J/F cabin is something I seek and the rediculous revenue justifys to some extent, having rather exclusive cabin. Is offering the cabin at 90% discount to staff makes you feel less enticed to pay up for your J-class flights? I think J staff travel at ID90 should only be provided to the senior employee. At the moment it seems even the lowest rank of new-recruits (and many of them) get premium class standby travel. And this frustrates me when I pay 30k HKD for a ticket knowing some young guy next to me got it for 3k HKD....
but i'm left with no choice... i keep paying.
