Strategic use of the award malls will help, too. Take advantage of deals on the shopping malls, such as 6500 points for wine club sign up and give away the wine for Christmas, 2500 points for cell phone sign ups, 25 points per dollar for Proactiv, etc.

How many of the 8 of you are over 18? That might help with 1) additional credit card apps and 2) adults able to travel with minors on different flights.
