I searched but could not find anything relevant on the topic.

I want to book four passengers on the same PNR so I can use my status for free checked bags plus EC, however I want to book two of the passengers using my Amex companion certificate.

I know Delta can't "merge" PNRs, so I don't think it's possible to book all the passengers separately if I want to extend my benefits to everyone. Anyone have past experience with this issue?
