Yep, that's essentially the response i got form the property.

We booked two rooms with small kids just the way we routinely do everywhere - we didn't ask for an upgrade as long as there is a connector. Now it looks like we'll have to pay not one but two upsell fees.

Their website room description does not specify that only studios have connectors (they use executive room vs classic room descriptions while the reservation is for "deluxe" - go figure..). My choice of hotel or at least my expectations would have been different had i known this before.

The email from "trainee" did also note that i can reserve breakfast for EUR 29 - if we end up paying two upsell charges i may have rather limited motivation to spend any extra money there...

A rather disappointing start i have to say - i hope we can find some middle ground...
