I took 2 Chase GCs to get a MO at Walmart. The clerk was busy, but another woman came over to help and I thought, "Oh-oh". She looked like the kind of person who would give me hassles, and she did.

First she keyed it in improperly so that my first card was rejected because it didn't have enough for the full amount. I explained that she had to key in only $500, and she did, but said that she didn't think gift cards were valid for MOs. That card was accepted, but she had to fix it again for the second card, all the while conversing with another woman who came over about whether GCs were valid.

The group decision was no, but by that time my order was complete and she grudgingly took my dollar for the $.70 charge, warning me that she would tell all the clerks not to allow gift cards anymore.

This is in contrast to the other WM I frequent where they are always happy to help me and most know how to do it properly. I hope this plague doesn't spread.
