Driving to London

Originally, I was going to take the Eurostar from Bruges to London to make things easiest on myself and my 3 travel partners.

However, we want to make some stops in Kent on the way over and back, so I can eat at my favorite pubs, etc.

In that case, what would be my best option?
I can drive to the hotel, and pay the 50 pounds a day parking and the congestion charge, or I could park at the outskirts of the city and take the train or metro.

Thoughts?
