I've never been to property without basic connecting rooms but i should have checked... But isn't the studio their the next category room which i should get as AMB? IME hotels honor 1 cat upgrade even on award stays - is this an exception?

I have been told that the hotel does not upgrade AMBs on reward nights. They make an exemption for RAs by upgrading them to Panorama Studios (upon availability). I personally would pay the surcharge for the Studios - they are larger and on the outside offering a great view of the mountains / valley.
