I have a 64 GB iPad mini and I hardly have any room on it for movies, thanks to several "memory hog" games and apps.

For watching movies and TV shows on a plane, I use a 16GB nook HD equipped with a 64GB microSD card. The nook HD has a higher screen resolution than the iPad mini and at its current price of $149, the nook HD's a pretty good deal.
