Are you hoping to just show your employer the credit car statement and tell them that it was booked through the agency? BTW, if it's personal travel, even if it originates at the client site, why is the employer involved at all in this transaction? Or does policy say that you may travel to a different location instead of home on weekends/holidays and have the company pay?
Travel from home to client location is $X. So i am allowed to fly anywhere for that amount. I would like to fly home, and the ticket cost $X+300. If I book through the corporate portal, then I need to pay $300 out of pocket. If I book on delta.com, then I can use my voucher and therefore no out-of-pocket expenses.

I know the rules are that one needs to book travel through the online portal. I am just wondering if I would get flagged by booking directly to delta.com, knowing that my when using my corporate AMEX card, the company automatically reimburses the expenses. If the transaction details are the same when booking thru the portal vs delta.com, I am not sure if one can differentiate where the purchase was made.
