I believe that this is it. I recall reading another thread about someone who now had a 1:55 T8->T7 connection and was not illegal. I don't recall the thread offhand. In that case, I think they were originally only 1:40, and ticketed. Somehow the schedule change that made it 1:55 triggered something. So this may be the issue.
