I know it's a bit off topic, but customs can be difficult both ways. I just hosted a professional colleague at the University of Toronto who's an American naturalized citizen of Russian origin. He was yelled at and separated from his family for an hour at Canadian customs coming into Canada. He had documentation proving he was a professor at a US university invited to give a talk at a Canadian university and they were really rude to him. It happens both ways
