I'm going to Hungary soon and I've been hearing that typical American CC's (those with no chip) are becoming more difficult to use in Europe and Asia. But my personal experience contradicts this: I was in several European and Asian countries six months ago and my American CC worked with no problems.

What's the reality these days? Has anyone had with trouble using a non-chipped CC in Europe and Asia?
