From the description of the issue, it sounds completely coincidental (engine seal issue). This could easily happen on a 772, maybe even more likely due to the age and average time elapsed since last maintenance check.
Of course I know you're right, but still, I'd be stessing wonderig if it will happen again. ( I have non-UA connections to make)
