I think these are the kind of questions DL/UA are also asking. For elites who fly mainly on partner airlines and on discount P/Z fares, but crediting to MP; how profitable are they to UA and what's the incentive for UA to give 100% mileage bonus, GPU/RPU/CPU, surcharge-free mileage redemptions, etc...Why not "push" that elite join ANA mileage club or MH enrich...
I think the harder question is how to balance those UA elites who fly mix of UA/*A partners..the balance of a "fair" PQD and what elite benefits they should receive and how to keep them loyal....
