If it is a US Verizon phone, you can get the GSM portion (sim card) unlocked for free for international use (just call them if it's locked). Let me be clear, it will be ONLY unlocked for international use. If you try to put a US T-mobile or US AT&T sim card for US use, it will NOT work.
